International Integration: A Pathway to Sustainable Logistics Development
The Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition 2024 (VILOG 2024) will be held from August 1st to 3rd, 2024 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Launched in 2023, the event welcomed nearly 25,000 visitors, demonstrating the strong appeal of the exhibition to both domestic and international logistics businesses.
This year, VILOG 2024 returns on a larger scale with 400 booths from over 300 companies representing 20 countries and territories, fostering global connections within the logistics system. The exhibition’s key areas include: Transport and freight forwarding, intelligent warehousing and cold supply chain; material handling machinery and equipment; logistics technology applications; industrial park and port infrastructure, providing a comprehensive overview of advancements and innovations in the backbone of the logistics industry.
Notably, major countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, China, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia will be participating. This is an opportunity for visitors and businesses to access and explore advanced products, equipment, and services from leading companies worldwide.
During VILOG 2024, a series of specialized workshops on green logistics will be held. Notable events include the workshop “Training green skills for logistics workforce – connecting with ESG” and the workshop “Green logistics – From awareness to action,” providing participants with fundamental knowledge about the concept of green logistics and practical implementation methods.
According to the logistics services provider Agility, Vietnam ranks 10th out of 50 emerging logistics markets. The logistics services industry has gradually met the demands of domestic trade and import-export activities.
However, the logistics industry also faces many challenges, such as 90% of businesses operating in the logistics sector being small and medium-sized enterprises, and limited application of smart logistics. The linkage between logistics enterprises, between logistics enterprises and manufacturing and export enterprises is still weak, and a network of large-scale logistics enterprises with the capacity to lead the market and promote the development of the logistics industry has not yet been formed.
